Global Entrepreneurship Summit- 2018
The Global Entrepreneurship Summit(GES) 2018 hosted by the Entrepreneurship Cell, functioning under the aegis of RMSoEE, of the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur from 2nd February to 4th February turned a breeding ground for the budding entrepreneurs when several startups came to the institute with internship offers.
“This is a big opportunity for those planning to launch their startups in near future. They would get to work with the startups and gather first-hand experience of working and building an organization from scratch.
This year over 1500 students from about 80 institutes all over the country participated in GES.
Numerous startups had also participated in the Annual Business Model competition of E-cell, IIT Kharagpur that is conducted on the 2nd Day of GES. There were internship offers for the social media junkies too! “Asaan.com is a platform which would help your friend shop by analyzing products and services through social media reviews, uploads, sharing and comments uploaded by you! When your friends buy things you recommend they get a cash back and you earn money too. For our initiative we are looking for interns to work as data analysts and digital marketing experts,” added Aashish Sehgal, founder.
“This would be a great way to learn about going ahead with startups. I have put my CV for four startups, let’s see what happens,” said Vineet Kapoor, from Ranchi University.
We conduct our flagship event – Global Entrepreneurship Summit (GES), the largest collegiate entrepreneurial summit in India every year in February. This edition of GES was blessed with inspiring people like Mr. Gulzar Azad (Country Head- Connectivity, Google India) Prof. Michael Friebe (Endowed Professor, Otto-Von-Guericke University, Germany) , Mr. Arijit Ray(Founder,Paperboat Brandworks) and Mr. Parag Shah (Chief Mentor, MIDAS India ), Mr. Kameshwar Eranki, of Vajrasoft Inc, USA, . We also had the pleasure to host Biswa Kalyan Rath. Shri Suresh Prabhu, Hon’ble Cabinet Minister, Commerce & Industry of India had send his video message, wishing well the e-cell in this endeavour.
The main aim of Global Entrepreneurship Summit is to promote the startup culture in India, by bringing startups, students and successful entrepreneurs on same platform. GES brings you talks and lectures by personalities that have experienced pros and cons of starting up and has emerged as masters on innovation and creativity. E-cell, IIT Kharagpur brings you a sneak peek into the future technologies with National Product Expo that featured startups v.i.z Trillbit, Li-Fi and Mitra Robot.
Overall, it was an exhilarating 3 day experience for all the startup enthusiasts who were present in the campus of IIT Kharagpur.
